In simple terms, Oath of Allegiance is the process for former Filipinos to re-acquire their Philippine Citizenship. Former natural-born Filipino citizens who acquired foreign citizenship through naturalisation are deemed NOT to have lost their Philippine citizenship. It means, former Filipinos can re-acquire/retain their Philippine citizenship by taking the Oath of Allegiance to the Republic.
