What is a Special Power of Attorney or Attorney-in-Fact?

Special Power of Attorney (SPA) or Attorney-in-Fact (AIF) refers to a person delegated with specified powers to act on behalf of a family member during their home loan application.

This is typically done when the borrower is abroad and not located in the Philippines at the time of lodging their home loan application.

A special power of attorney must have a notarized certification to have legal authority duly recognized under Philippine law.

Note: SPA certificate formats will be provided by Nook from the bank, once the loan is approved.
